Expo Osaka 2025: Italy tells its story with Eurostands by Mitograff: featuring interactive structures and immersive green experiences. From the traditional warmth of walnut wood to cutting-edge high-tech: where Italian artistry embraces global challenges.
Eurostands by Mitograff brings its signature style to Expo Osaka 2025, scheduled from April 13th to October 13th under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”: the Altagamma icosahedron for the Italy Pavilion.
The Altagamma Icosahedron: Geometry and Tradition
The heart of the Italy Pavilion, the twenty-sided geometric structure (H 314 cm x W 386 cm) in national blond walnut wood celebrates Italian design with:
- High-resolution triangular LEDWalls for projections dedicated to the 120 Altagamma brands (fashion, design, jewelry, food, hospitality, speed, and wellness).
- 14 laser-cut and oven-painted sheet metal triangular sides.
- Dolby Surround audio system amplified by the icosahedron’s geometry.
- Controller to synchronize cloud-based multimedia content.
“This represents a nod to Renaissance symmetry, reimagined for the 4.0 era,” states Massimiliano Cordoni, Head of the Technical Office at Eurostands by Mitograff. “Our work involved highlighting the wood grain to maximize its interaction with light, and we employed an environmentally friendly water-based paint. The design’s intricate nature is due to the incidence angles of the vertices and the negative rotation of each facet, parameters that necessitated very strict tolerances.”
