Homo Faber 2022 – Eurostands sets up the international exhibition dedicated to contemporary craftsmanship in Venice

Homo Faber 2022: Eurostands sets up the big cultural exhibition in Venice

Eurostands sets up the second consecutive edition of the Homo Faber Event, the great atelier of international craftsmanship in Venice. The savoir-faire of Eurostands is at the service of the big event with the creation of refined exhibition spaces for the 15 exhibitions scheduled until May 1 on the Island of San Giorgio. The second edition of the event will celebrate the living treasures of Europe and Japan in “an exceptional journey seen through the eyes of celebrated curators, architects and designers”.

The work will cover nearly 4,000 square metres in the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice

The Eurostands installations will enrich the already extraordinary 15 exhibitions followed by 22 curators and exceptional designers that will be set up on the 4000sqm exhibition area on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. Halls such as the Longhena Library and the Gandini Pool, usually closed to the public, will open to visitors on this special occasion and will be the set to explore the intertwined cultural relationship between Europe and Japan.

A path made of galleries, cloisters and new spaces such as the former Gandini Swimming Pool emptied and renewed for the occasion by the Eurostands team. The designer and curator of this latest exhibition is the award-winning visual artist and director Robert Wilson who, more than an exhibition, created a real theatrical production.

A never-opened-before space: the setting up of the former Gandini Pool becomes a multisensory setting curated by Robert Wilson

Our team transformed the Gandini Swimming Pool into a suggestive exhibition for Homo Faber curated by Robert Wilson, award-winning visual artist and American director. An area of about 1000sqm never opened before that becomes a stage made of visions inspired by Japan and the director’s theatrical productions.

More than an exhibition. This setup is an experience divided into two moments, almost like a ritual and cathartic path. “A multisensory setting: dark access, with works and videos by Japanese choreographer Suzushi Hanayagi, will culminate in an immersion under a blue lighting environment between art objects and clothes” explains Michelangelo Foundation executive director Alberto Cavalli.

The Nautical School transformed into an atelier of contemporary craftsmanship

The Nautical School on the Island of San Giorgio is a space setup by Eurostands, framed by beautifully worked wall panels to specially made floor tiles, where visitors can admire the demonstrations of master craftsmen of some of the most important luxury houses in Europe. Among the participating brands: Cartier, CHANEL, Van Cleef & Arpels, which are joined by Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne together with many other international realities.

The event is organized by the Michelangelo Foundation in partnership with the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte Foundation, The Japan Foundation and the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller.

Xmas markets are back in Milan. Eurostands takes care of the setup in Piazza Duomo

The magic of Christmas is back in Milan: the Piazza Duomo Xmas markets are setup and built by Eurostands

One of the most important events in the city has begun: Eurostands has taken care of the setup and building of 65 wooden chalets, house of Santa Claus included, for a total of 1200 square meters of preparation. The markets of Piazza Duomo come back to relieve the heart of Milan for the Christmas holidays after a year of stop. “We are used to set up in the center of Milan – says the CEO Maurizio Cozzani – After receiving the assignment from Confcommercio we immediately started to work”.

In the last few days, Eurostands has taken care of the production and installation of 65 wooden chalets in Piazza Duomo that will be open to the public from 1 December from 8:30 to 22:00. It is a total space of over 1200 square meters (18 square meters for each cabin) lighted by almost 1 kilometer of Christmas decorations. A space where the joy of Christmas will spread and in which Milanese and tourists will find a wide range of products from crafts to clothing, plus regional delights. In order to improve the viability and the pedestrian flows, the distribution of the little houses has been modified with a careful organization of the spaces, increasing the space between each chalet. The markets will be divided into three areas: the area of Piazza Duomo/Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza Duomo/ex Camposanto will have two sales sides chalets, while the ones in Piazza Duomo/Arcivescovado area will be one sided.

The set-up was made in a record time: the team of Eurostands worked non-stop from 26 to 30 November, for a total of 90 hours dedicated to the dressing up of the square that is a symbol of the Lombard capital. “We have been entrusted with a challenging but at the same time rewarding task: bringing the magic of Christmas back to Milan – says the CEO of Eurostands, Maurizio Cozzani – This year, there is so much desire to celebrate the most magical time of the year and for this reason we accepted with enthusiasm the assignment that Confcommercio gave us in setting up Piazza Duomo with its best dress: the Christmas markets. We know that the month of December is particularly awaited and felt for the Milanese people: for this reason, we immediately planned to operate in the expected time and in total safety. Special thanks go to the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, and the president of Confcommercio, Carlo Sangalli. This experience teaches us that things can be perfectly done”. This is not the first time that Eurostands has prepared an exhibition in the centre of Milan. Recently the Brianza-based company has built an open air installation for Motomorphosis, a non-profit project that is committed to spreading the theme of education and road safety. In June, Eurostands was the main partner of the event MIMO – Milano Monza Motor Show and built 120 wooden platforms for 63 car brands in Piazza Duomo, where were also installed and 2,000 meters of cables in just 3 days of work.

EXPO 2020 Dubai: Eurostands sets up the Angola Pavilion

From Brianza to Dubai, Eurostands brings its know-how to Expo 2020 Dubai

Eurostands, leader in the trade fair sector, transports its equipment to over 5 thousand kilometers far: there are 3 construction plans, 7 thematic areas and 2000 square meters of space. Eurostands is thus confirmed as a leading player in the field of universal exhibitions, reaching its seventh participation. “From Brianza to Dubai, despite a year of pandemic and the related difficulties, our commitment to the construction of the pavilions in the universal exhibitions continues over twenty years” says Maurizio Cozzani, CEO of Eurostands.

It has been a year of difficulties, missed trips and cancelled appointments, but the wait is over: even with 365 days of delay, the spotlight on Expo Dubai 2020 has finally been turned on and the doors of one of the most anticipated international events are open. The Universal Exhibition, which began on 1 October, will be staged at the “Dubai Experience Centre” until 31 March 2022. As always, more than just a fair, it is a real journey around the globe, a tour that passes through pavilions and creative installations, original and highly innovative.

192 countries are participating at the event, including Italy. In addition to the pavilion dedicated to it, the country emerges from an operational point of view thanks to the Angola pavilion created by Eurostands, Brianza-based company leader in the field of exhibition equipment and temporary architecture. For the company of Cambiago, this is not the first time at Expo: the debut was over 20 years ago and participation in the universal exhibitions numerous: from Lisbon to Shanghai, from Hanover to Aichi and Milan in 2015 for a total of 7 participations.

This time, Eurostands has taken care of the interior fitting of the Angola Pavilion: the theme chosen by Angola is “Oportunidades”, a highly evocative and auspicious leitmotiv after the difficulties crossed. What is more: the installation, thanks to the partnership with the Emirates company ABRA, is located in the Mobility District, which aims to embody the general mission of Dubai, stimulating innovation, opportunity and connectivity.

Culture and sustainability: we must face all the challenges that the market places us

“Taking part in an event as important as Expo Dubai 2020 with the Angola pavilion is a source of great pride and satisfaction for us – underlined Maurizio Cozzani, CEO of Eurostands – it perfectly embodies innovation and modernity, Eurostands still is a great presence in the universal exhibitions world: a path started by the founders in 1998 with the construction of the Italian pavilion in Lisbon, in Shanghai in 2021 and with the 4 national pavilion built and set up in Milan at Expo 2015.

The hope for the future is that the Expo will be the first of a new and long list of physical international events”. From the operational point of view, the professionals of Eurostands worked on 3 floors of construction, within an area of about 2000 square meters, also providing all the furnishings for offices, kitchen, restaurant and decorations.

The pavilion itself, for the most part made up of eco-sustainable materials such as wood, metal and ecological paints, is a real journey into the culture of Angola divided into 7 thematic areas. Each area is characterized by a particular type of realization. In addition, there is a restaurant designed for hosting the guests of the event. Among the different areas that characterize the structure, the area 04 is the most technological and innovative: the wall consists of 500 tiles with internal lighting. A playful, brilliant and highly symbolic setting, since this choice represents the future of Angola, a future in which new technologies must necessarily be the protagonists to illuminate the way.

Eurostands at FuoriSalone 2021: the delivery of 4 works for INTERNI Creative Connections

The Brianza-based company realizes part of 4 installations of FuoriSalone 2021

FuoriSalone is taking place in Milan from 4 to 19 September and Eurostands, a leading company in the trade fair sector and temporary architecture, comes into play, providing efficiency and professionalism for the event. The Brianza-based company, which has been active for over 70 years, has in fact taken part in the realization of 4 installations, 3 of which are set up within the exhibition INTERNI Creative Connections, which will animate the Milanese event: Freedom, Pura, Doppia Firma and Audi City Lab.

MAD Architects' FREEDOM and Pura by Guglielmi Rubinetterie
Production, engineering, assembly, logistics

The first work of art is located in the Courtyard of Honor of the University of Milan and it’s designed by MAD Architects Studio. The installation represents a seagull, a symbol of rebirth, made out of 120 meters of profiles and metal tubes produced in Eurostands factories. The company was responsible for both construction and assembly of the work, which stands with its 6 meters high and 8 meters long on a platform of 600 kilos. Freedom, however, is not the only creation we took care of. Even Pura, indeed, is located at the same location: it is a 6 meters high totem, designed by the architect Alessandro Zambelli for Guglielmi, composed of different sheets and illuminated directly from the inside.

A tribute to water, in all its forms, symbol of the entire life cycle. Eurostands has taken care of the phases of engineering, construction, assembly, logistics and installation of the work on site.

The restart according to Maurizio Cozzani, CEO of Eurostands

“Taking part in such an important event, showcasing our professionalism and efficiency, it’s for us a source of great pride” – says Maurizio Cozzani, CEO of Eurostands – “Every work has a precise meaning as well as the Fuorisalone itself in its entirety, because it reinforces the idea of rebirth and, above all, that of return to conviviality. Our professionals have put themselves to the test again and have worked tirelessly: this kind of events such as the Fuorisalone must be the cornerstones of an increasingly connected future capable of bringing people back to the center through live events and physical events”.

Audi City Lab e Doppia Firma
Eurostands participates in the set-up of the Audi laboratory at the milanese fashion district

The expertise of Eurostands also emerges in two other installations displayed in Milan: Doppia Firma and Audi City Lab. The first is an exhibition produced by Fondazioni Cologni and the Michelangelo Foundation related to the theme of the garden and outdoor, which returns for its fifth edition at Palazzo Morando (Milan) from 5 to 12 September. A union between the innovation of design and the tradition of the great masters of art. The creations of local artists and artisans rely on 12 exhibitors and 10 tubular bases, covered with sheet metal, designed by Studio Salaris.

The second project is Audi City Lab, a project of urban regeneration by Hines aiming to recover the historic Palazzo Pertusati, in Via della Spiga. The fully restored place will welcome stories and characters that embody the idea of progress. For this temporary hub, which will remain active for about a month (from 5 to 27 September), Eurostands laid 800sqm of suspended ceilings and platforms and 300sqm of drywall.

FuoriSalone 2021 – FREEDOM, the MAD Architects’ installation is built by Eurostands for Interni Exhibition

FuoriSalone 2021

The Salone del Mobile is back and the heart of design has started beating again. Eurostands is a partner of INTERNI Creative Connection, the exhibition that will take place from 4 to 9 September at the University of Milano. The long-awaited events return to live in the milanese area after the pandemic restrictions and are here for people that want to share the passion for design and rediscover all the quality of Made in Italy. The themes for the year are: Care, Sustainability, Mobility.

Freedom
The work by Eurostands with Ledvance Italia

Eurostands is engaged in the production and installation of the work FREEDOM, a project by Ma Yansong/MAD architects for the exhibition called “INTERNI Creative Connections”.

Freedom” represents a seagull that is about to fly to distant lands, with its head turned upwards to look at the sky. Bright, among the arches of the University Cortile D’Onore, this seagull resembles the spokesman of the hope that lives in the heart of the contemporary man between pandemic and the desire to leave for a new journey in total freedom.

The work, 750cm long and 620cm high, is composed of metal profiles and tubes made by Eurostands and coated with led strips provided by LEDVANCE Italy.

It will be possible to join the event from 4 to 19 September 2021 inside the Cortile d’Onore of the University of Milan in via Festa del Perdono, 7.

Pura
The work by Eurostands for Guglielmi Rubinetterie

This project is called “Pura” and is designed by the architect Alessandro Zambelli for Guglielmi Rubinetterie. Eurostands gave life to the project with the collaboration of Ledvance Italia for the exhibition Interni Creative Connections.

“Pura” is a work that celebrates the divine value of water as a symbol of the entire life cycle. The structure consists of a wooden base from which stands a metal totem (6 meters high!), composed of perforated sheets internally illuminated. Each sheet describes a water form.

The art installation is a real experience: it allows the FuoriSalone visitors to taste the filtered water through the Pura technology, supplied by the Guglielmi tap installed inside the tower.
