The municipality of Florence, in cooperation with Pitti Image, hosted the Dolce&Gabbana Haute Couture events on 2^nd and 3^rd September 2020, with the evocative title “Renaissance and Rebirth”. We got involved with passion, called by the Maison to support them in this challenging project, in one of the richest and historically most important cities of our country.

The opening of the event, set in the beautiful Perfume Workshop of Santa Maria Novella, started with the D&G High Jewellery Collection, specifically designed for this occasion and presented with the involvement of local craftsmen, who were honoured by the designers who invited them on several occasions in their exceptional representations, even inside the historic walls of Palazzo Vecchio and Villa Bardini.

Dolce&Gabbana then presented the Haute Couture Men Collection in the beautiful setting of “Room of Five Hundreds” of Palazzo Vecchio. The event, set next to the Vasari’s frescoes, was courageous since it was the first live show since the outbreak of the Covid emergency. It represents for the designers the new Italian Renaissance, lived in full compliance with the current rules but at the same time a clear sign of the attention from the fashion world for the restart of the city and the sector.

At the end, the precious location of Villa Bardini hosted the Haute Couture Women Collection, magically set at dusk along the steps of the Italian garden.

Setting up haute couture in collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana is always a fascinating incentive and a test of your technical and productive knowledge. After we worked on the Men Fashion SS 2020/21 show, set up in July in the Humanitas Hospital gardens in Rozzano, we could only be excited about this new Florentine challenge. The determination that distinguishes our company in pursuing challenging targets, in a delicate period like the current one, was also in this case an essential quality for the success of these events.
